Man I love fridays. Although this weekend will be ruff..Baby classes this weekend. So no rest for me. It will be interesting to find out about baby stuff though. My brains already mush from tryin to absorb stuff from skool. I wish I could retain info better....

Anyways I thought I would post somethin today. First off, I liked havin some color to my blog so I colored some sketchin I did yesterday. I forgot how fun it is. My buddy from work, Lael, is a great painter and I wish I could be more paiterly with my work. Watchin him the other day, i thought I would try a different approach with my coloring. Its not supposed to be a pic that means anything, for those who are concerned with the floating head in the background.

Also posting my key poses for my next assignment. Comments, concerns, complaints? Get at me and let me know. Im always happy to hear comments! You guys rock!

What do you get when you cross man with another animal, or creature...?

I really didnt test my creative mind with this one:

- Steven Wright

Word of the day:
propitious \pruh-PISH-uhs\, adjective:
1. Presenting favorable circumstances or conditions.
2. Favorably inclined; gracious; benevolent.

I put two sighs in my title cause its monday...

I figured why Ive been depressed about where I am job wise. Not a hard one. Took me a sec to notice. The closer it gets to my son gettin here, the more I want to be successful. Before I met my wife I was content to just get by. When I started dating my wife I really wanted to make her proud and decided to follow my dream of being an artist. She was kind enough to be patient while I fumbled around tryinto figure out how I was gonna get my foot in the door. Now with my first child on the way I feel like " man I shouldve done more early on.." Ahhh... love that 20/20 hindsight.

I shouldnt feel this way, but its easy to get caught up in it when its not just you anymore. I guess its good cause Ive never had so much drive. Hopefully one day it will all pay off.... (cross fingers)

Welp, onto week 8.

Crazy. Week 8. Todays post is some more fan art / practice, planning for this weeks assignment ( the four emotion thing ...come on keep up..), and the clean up final. ( will tweak it some more if i can find the time.) Let me know which idea you think is better for my assignment this week or if you have any tips let me know.

With that said, " seeyawhenilookatcha"

I wish I were Hollywood...sigh

The longing to work at a big company has been killin me lately. First though I need to get out the quote of the day:

Those who can laugh without cause have either found the true meaning of happiness or have gone stark raving mad.
- Norm Papernick

and the word of the day:
subfusc \sub-FUHSK\, adjective:
Dark or dull in color; drab, dusky.

Back to our story...

I was gettin to the fact is that Id love the idea of workin on something thats high profile. Somethin that pushes the portfolio to higher heights. ( Mines not even off the ground :( ) The BIG TIME. I mean come on.. what artist doesnt want to be hollywood. The glitz and glamour of it all. Your name in credits, the admiration of the friends and artist alike.

Ahhhhh to dream the dream...

I guess Im basically sayin " Suck , I need to bust more ass.."

This weeks assignment is more cleanin up of last weeks push and 4 emotion poses that relate to each other, telling a story. The emotions are: Relaxed, Alert, Engaged, Rejected or Disgusted. Man, the anxiety has already kicked into high gear..

Here some doodles and what I turned in last week. Hopefully I can get back to postin a lil more than I have been. The doodles were mainly practice. Pose and clothes. And one is just animals from different movies and what not One day I will make somethin more finished. ( sketchbook forum has loads of char turnarounds and what not. Fun to practice, its where I got the animal heads from. )

Here ya go!
