A dook from yesterdays demo..

One of the dooks from yesterdays demo..So hard drawing and talking about what Im drawing.. Like chewing gum, underwater basketweaving and unraveling the human genome all at the same time for me.. glad to have done it though.. Keep on keepin on!

Fastest and most humbling 30 days...

For those who know me well, know a few years ago I was close to giving up on art. I was also quite angry and cynical. Life served me up something painful enough to get me there. Over the years, art was my meditation. It was that place I could go where it was just me and the paper. No past, no future, no pain....just being. Though that journey is how I learned it was the gift for me. That it was okay to live and dream again..

 I'm content to just "dook" out something. Not for the quality of it, but for how blessed I am for the time I get to do them. I never would have thought so many people would be so kind to me for that. I wish that could go back in time to the "me" who made the decision to "keep on keepin on" and tell him thanks, it was well worth it. 

I feel like this book is one way of doin that. For all of you that  have come by and supported me through years, I wish I could hand you the feelings that your kindness has given me. My soul is overflowing with gratitude and I love you for showing me the best part of this world...  I can't thank you enough for making this book a reality through this kickstarter campaign and being apart of this creative journey of mine. Beyond humbled..

So I totally ripped off Guy Francis at lunch by trading my watercolor dook for one of his majestic inkalicious mermaids...i know..I normally dont take advantage like that, but had to have it! Was nice to see a huge turn out at todays lunch!
