sweet sketches! I guess I made a great choice of toy for you. That Iron Man is soooo sweet! I showed my wife the pics of your office and she was in awe. She said "Just like in 40 Year Old Virgin." Heeheehee Keep up the awesome work and post as much as you can, 'cause I'm always waiting for more!! PEACE
Hey Steve, Yeah Im gonna give the good ol college try on riggin and animating him in maya as well. We use Max here at work and tryin to get time to work on him at home has been a lesson in itself. The goal one day is to model that witch I concepted and animate her too so I have something I design as well. (Joker was so I can learn the whole route and I had the toy I could use as ref.) Then it will be on to some sort of quadruped. Thannks for stoppin by and commenting man, means a load.
Man, I hear you about the whole working on stuff at home thing =] My project is slow, but that's okay since I'm mainly doing it to learn other aspects of 3d beyond modeling, which is my day job...
I have modeled a bit in Maya, but man, you got more patients than I do =] I model in XSI, and I'll likely be doing everything else in XSI as well, if your wanting to do mainly animation, the Maya skills will pay off, but if you enjoy modeling, a package like XSI or Lightwave is really good for down and dirt intuitive modeling...
thanks for the heads up steve! Yeah hearing about xsi I think its the package I'll end up wanting to do everything. I love animating in maya more so than max and for the most part move a whole lot easier in maya than i do in max. I hear that xsi is pretty sweet and cant wait to feel comfortable with the 3d end to give it a shot!
I see you found my blog. Thanks for the comment. I came across your blog while doing some research on Animation Mentor and really enjoyed looking through your work. Great designs as always. I'll be joining you this April on Animation Mentor. Can't wait to start. Keep posting those drawings.
