Hahaha! I love the picture with all of the heads. Excellent! I'm so bad at drawing crowds. All of those partial details and obstructed views. Great job.

All of these pictures are great. I especially like the robot, but they are all awesome.

Olivier Ladeuix said...

is there anything wrong with you doing doodles Mel? why do you keep complaining?? I love watching them you know ! ;-)

Now regarding the animation, we had a discussion a while ago so here are some news.

www.tvpaint.com the guys from TV Paint (ex Mirage) just released version 8.5 of their animation software and they were doing some demonstrations at Annecy last week.

Check it out, they have a new timeline very similar to Flash but luckily it doesn't rely on vectors.

Digicel said they would also release a new version more suited for Digital animators and Jason Ryan is showing a demonstration on the digicel website but like I said, it is not out yet so he uses a beta version.

Your stuff is simply fantastic! And your doodles are great. I always love to see artist's doodles and sketch books, because it is in there that you really see their work and ideas, which are often more interesting that the finshed pieces. Also, I learn way more by looking at the process than the final.

Keep up the great work!

Very nice !

Shawn Escott said...

Great colors man! Looking good! My one comment about Han, and it is not about the color... it might be nice to have a little pinky finger sort of pointing out at the bottom. 3 fingers looks a little wierd :) You captured some nice subtle color in the face, with the warms and cools. I'm learning it is all about subtle variations in those colors. Say you have a red. To keep the red interesting vary the temperature. Warm over cool tones. And brush work also adds interest, criss-crossing and variation of size. Love the tonal piece and all the sketches! Great work!

Edward said...

Amazing stuff man! Your shiZ rocks! Thanks for the nice comments on my blog.
